The
new regulations are onerous and far reaching...

| Did
you know that?! |
If
you're suspended in a harness for more than 20 minutes circulation
to major body parts steadily ceases... It's not just the fall
that kills!!!
Over half of major accidents involve a fall of under 2m!
In a fall the normal stretch of a harness is 150mm - just think
how it could affect what you have in your pockets.
When the new regulations come into place, as a responsible
employer you will need to:
Plan any activity taking place at height.
Have an effective evacuation plan, with people who know how
to use it - calling 999 won't cut it!
Have the correct records in place for all activities and equipment
that take place at height - the HSE will look here first.
Ensure that anyone working at height is a 'competent' person.
Every activity where people leave the ground will come under
the new regulations, and so too will many that take place under
ground. |
